Newburgh, IN – October 19, 2026 – Traylor Building is pleased to announce the completion and upcoming grand opening of Warrick Humane Society’s new animal shelter. The organization will celebrate the new facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, October 23 at 10am.
The new shelter provides Warrick Humane Society with an updated facility designed to better support the animals, staff, volunteers, and community it serves. The facility will improve day-to-day operations while creating a welcoming environment for animals, employees, volunteers, adopters, and visitors. With additional space and resources, Warrick Humane Society can continue its mission of caring for homeless animals and connecting them with adoptive families, with the capacity to care for approximately 400 more animals each year.
“This new shelter will allow us to better serve the animals and families in our community,” said Lindsey Hagedorn, Executive Director, Warrick Humane Society. “We are incredibly grateful to the donors, volunteers, community partners, and everyone who helped make this facility possible. We look forward to welcoming the community into our new home and continuing our mission for many years to come.”

Following the ribbon cutting, Warrick Humane Society will host its annual Miles for Mutts 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, October 24, at 8 am, followed by the grand opening celebration from 10am to 5pm. The grand opening gives community members an opportunity to tour the new shelter and learn more about Warrick Humane Society’s work. Traylor Building is a sponsor of this year’s event.
