The Zachry/Traylor Joint Venture gathered alongside state, federal, and regional leaders at Lake Texoma State Park on September 10 to celebrate the groundbreaking of the US-70 Roosevelt Bridge Replacement Project, marking the official start of a new chapter for a crucial transportation connection in southern Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) selected the joint venture of Zachry Construction Corporation and Traylor Bros., Inc. to deliver the $408 million replacement project earlier this year. The existing Roosevelt Bridge opened in 1945 and has carried travelers across Lake Texoma for more than 80 years. Connecting Bryan and Marshall Counties, the crossing serves as an important link for residents, visitors, businesses, and recreational traffic throughout the Texoma region. Approximately 8,500 vehicles cross the bridge each day.

The new bridge will be constructed just south of the existing structure and will feature four travel lanes, full shoulders, and a dedicated path for pedestrians and cyclists. Once complete, the replacement will provide a safer, more reliable crossing while supporting continued economic growth throughout the region.

Major construction is scheduled to begin this fall, with the new bridge anticipated to open to two lanes of traffic in 2028. All construction is currently planned for completion in late 2029.
